Hull construction and repair
In 1956 a budgetary unit was established under the Industrial Directorate of the Navy Military Command based on the north shore of Lake Mangalia.
In 1963 on the basis of H.C.M. 767/27.09.1963 this unit changed its title to Mangalia Naval Shipyard, a unit with its own economic management, subordinated to the Industrial Directorate of the Ministry of the Armed Forces.
Until 2001 the Mangalia Shipyard was a branch of the subsidiary S.C. "Arsenal" S.A., of the National Company "Romarm" S.A.
It was a company without legal personality but with economic autonomy.
On the basis of H.G. 952/27.10.2001, S.C. Șantierul Naval Mangalia S.A. is established, with headquarters in Intrarea Portului Street no. 1, Romanian legal entity, under the authority of the Ministry of Industry and Resources.
At the end of 2002, on the basis of HG 1348/2002 S.C. Șantierul Naval Mangalia S.A. transfers 13 ha of land and assets worth 3.112.484 thousand lei to the Mangalia Municipal Council for the establishment of an Industrial Park.
The company has no branches, representative offices, agencies, agencies, units and work points with or without legal personality, nor does the company have any properties resulting from nationalization that can be claimed.
In the period 04.08.2008 - 30.04.2013 S.C. Șantierul Naval Mangalia SA was a joint venture without legal personality with S.C. Sisteme Navale Mangalia S.R.L.
The company S.C. Sisteme Navale Mangalia S.R.L had a shareholder in the first 2 years controlled by the group Lurssen LAR Invest Gmbh - Bremen, Germany
The shipyard has established, documented, implemented, maintains and continuously improves a quality management system in accordance with the requirements of SR En ISO 9001,
The company also has an integrated management system that includes ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
Currently the Mangalia Shipyard is under the Ministry of Economy.
